Free Walking Tour Manchester

Discover the fascinating history of Manchester on a fantastic tour with Free Manchester Walking Tours!

Free Manchester Walking Tour

Free Manchester Walking Tours was started 6 years ago by Josh - History graduate, playwright and Mancunian! Since then, they have grown to become a small team of historians and storytellers, who love sharing Manchester’s unique city with the world.

Their main daily free tour is a fun, informative and informal introduction to the city. They will make sure you see Manchester must-do attractions, and also show you the city's quirky secrets, that only locals know.

Because it's a very entertaining walking tour - that includes music, photos and stories -  the Manchester free tour is popular with visitors, as well as people who have lived in Manchester their whole lives.

It's a great way to explore the city's various terrains, meet new people, find fantastic photo opportunities and get insider tips.

Manchester's a city of many depths - football and politics, industry and architecture, music and raves, fashion and food - join the Manchester free tour to get an insight into Manchester’s history, culture and present-day life in a way that only a local could.

They also offer a tour of Manchester’s bohemian Northern Quarter neighbourhood that discusses the area’s street art, music and radical history.

They also offer private tours, including in Spanish, and afternoon ‘whistle-stop’ tours.

Fantastic 3 hour walking tour which may seem a long time but time flew by even with the rain and hail. Josh is extremely knowledgeable (and funny) about Manchester and it's history and tooks us round some well known and not so known location. Highly recommended and we got to meet Alan the dog.

'This isn’t a point-and-shoot walking tour. It’s like you’ve gone to see an old friend, who tells you some amazing stories, plays songs, shares inside knowledge, takes you down streets no one else knows - and then brings it all together at the end to make you see the ‘real’ Manchester.’

'What better than to be shown around Manchester by a Mancunian? I dare anyone to go on this tour and NOT fall in love with Manchester - warts and all. Plus, when I went on, the tour guide had a cute dog called Alan.’
