Brought history to life! We did the old town tour with the whole family. Our guide Amanda’s entertaining way of talking about historical facts, combined with telling stories of her personal background made it a very interesting and thoroughly enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

Walk on the roads but stare up at the rooftops My family and I loved this tour, our guide Lana was so knowledgeable and friendly (and funny too). We have been following her advice to look up - all the best bits of Prague are several storeys above us. It was the perfect introduction to this gorgeous city.

Frequently asked questions about the tour

Do you require a reservation for your free tour in Prague?

Yes, in order to ensure the highest quality of our walking tours the size of the group is limited. Everybody who would like to join a tour should fill in a booking form on our website before coming. The reservation guarantees your participation in the tour.

What time does your free walking tour of Prague start?

We run several different free tours in Prague both in the morning in the afternoon and the schedule changes depending on the season. You can see our current program with all the details on our official website.

Where is the meeting point of the free tour in Prague?

It depends on the tour! All our tours start in the historical center, though and the meeting points are easy to get to. Remember to always make a booking before coming, it's mandatory (we will send you a map and the photo of the meeting point in the booking confirmation).

What is the average distance of your free walking tours in Prague?

Except for our free Zizkov tour which is around 4.5km, our walking tours cover a relatively short distance of around 2-3 km. In the middle of a tour, we usually have a break so that our guests can have some rest.

In which languages do you offer your free city tours in Prague?

Our daily free tours of Prague are organized in English. However, you can also book the tours in Spanish with our partners through us + we also offer private tours in French and Polish. Private tours are a great option for larger groups friends or company events. The programme of each private tour can be adjusted to your needs.

How can your tour be "free"? Are you supported by the municipality or the Czech government?

Not at all. We are FULLY sponsored by the voluntary contributions of our guests. We don't receive any subsidies from the city and our guides have no salaries. In fact, the tour is not "free of charge" but you have the freedom to decide how much you wish to pay. The entire concept is called "pay-what-you-want". If you don't like the tour (or you simply cannot afford more) you can pay little or nothing, it's ok. If you wish to pay, the more the better! :)

How much should I tip for a free walking tour in Prague?

We leave the decision how much you wish to pay for the tour at end to our guests. However, if you can afford it and you really liked the tour, we recommend an equivalent of 8-10 euros per person.

Is it possible to book a private tour of Prague with you?

Yes, of course. The price of a 2.5-hour private tour is normally between 120-140 euro depending on the size of the group. The languages available are English, French, German, Spanish and Polish. In order to guarantee availability, we recommend to contact us a couple of weeks in advance. For more details, please check the private tours section on our official website.
