Free Walking Tour Tehran

Go on a free tour of Tehran with Persian Walk!

Free Tehran Walking Tour

The mission of the Persian walk, designed by Ehsan and Mersa the co-founders of the company, is showing the real face of the Iranian lifestyle beyond the black and censored western media. Our team tries its best to convey the message based on social and cultural life and not just history and political aspects. By joining our free walking tours in Tehran on the first days of your arrival in Iran, you get local information, which is so practical for the rest of your trips. We will reveal also the secret codes of architecture, colors, taste, and some special words to you.

We offer theme tours as well. If you are interested in discovering local tastes, you can reserve our evening walking tour in the food and fruit market in the north part of Tehran in the Tajrish area.

If you are political freaks you can hop on our Revolution train tour and dig in the history of Iran from 1963 till 1990. Our storytellers tell you the origin of the Islamic revolution, the hostage crisis in 1980, and eight years of Iran-Iraq war.

Surprisingly, you can watch the ancient gym in a non-touristic place and enjoy the combination of traditional music and sport in our Zurkhaneh tour.

The Persian Walk group is also active in the other cities of Iran, like Isfahan. You can stay tuned with us for the rest of your journey.

Ehsan, one of the tour leaders of Persian Walk is one of the kindest person we met during our stay in Iran. As it was our first day in Tehran and Iran, it was really good to have someone who could speak perfect english while guidding us and telling more and more about the persian culture. I tottally recommend them! Read less

Mersa was simply amazing showing us around and guiding us through crazy Tehran. I’ve done a lot of walking tours but this one is outstanding! There is no better way to understand a city and the culture than hear it from a local! Highly recommended!

We offer different free tours in Tehran and Isfahan in the morning and afternoon. The time, meeting, and ending points are specified within each tour description. You can find out detailed information about any tour on our official website.

In which languages do you run the walking tours in Tehran?

At the moment, we offer tours in English & Spanish on our walking tours in Tehran. But if you reserve a private tour, we can also run a tour in Persian too.

How much should I tip for a free walking tour in Tehran or Isfahan? And will you accept tips in currencies other than Rials in your free tours?

You are free to decide how much the free walking tour values for you. But at the end of the tour, the guide will appreciate a tip of around 10 Euros per person, or more if the group size is very small. Because of the economic situation, we prefer to get tipped in Euros and Dollars rather than Rials or Tomans. But it depends on you which one of them is your preference.

Do I need to follow any specific dress code and bring anything with myself to the free walking tour?

In our walking tours, we would like to ask women to wear a knee-high outfit, as we explore in a traditional old neighborhood, and please don't forget your comfortable shoes. Flip-Flop is good for warm days. Although we have a short break in a Café, it’s good to bring a bottle of water and a snack with yourself.

How do I find the free tour guide?

Find a friendly smiling person with the Persian Walk’s orange umbrella or yellow t-shirt which indicates our logo.
