The tour was really informative and catchy. During 2 hours and a half Matej guided out tour in a bit of a cloudy morning. He started talking about the importance of commerce in the city history and then we went around the city center getting all kinds of stories about Leipzig. Religion, Politics, Music and all kinds of relevant information was given. We even failed to play an old Chinese musical instrument XD given as a gift in one of the multiple fairs held in the city. I'd totally recommend the tour to get the general idea of what's happened in Leipzig in the past.

This is a fantastic tour that covers all the important sights of downtown Leipzig. The guide is usually Matej, who is also to founder of this business. He has lots of little fun facts and knowledge that even locals who have lived here for decades don't know. Highly recommended!

I've been to a couple of tours in other cities, but this tour was the best one I've been to. Usually tour guides are either trying too hard to be funny or are a bit too dry and serious, but this tour is a good combination of information mixed with light comedy, so the two hours pass in a heartbeat. You learn both of bigger historical events and smaller fun insights into the city. I really recommend this tour, because you will explore the city of Lepizig with much bigger interest after you learn a bit of it's history.

What is the starting time and meeting spot of Leipzig Free Tours?

Our Free Tour starts on Augustus square (Augustusplatz) in front of the Mende fountain (Mendebrunnen), next to the orchestra, the Gewandhaus. You will find our guide with a green Free Tour umbrella. We start at 11 am and during the weekends we also offer them at 3 pm. Check our website for more information.

What is the length of the city tour Leipzig?

The whole tour takes around 5,5km and lasts 2,5 hours.

In which languages do you offer your tour?

Our regular Leipzig tours are offered in German, English and Spanish. Beside our regular tours we also provide private city tours in English, German, Spanish, Russian, Slovenian and Estonian.

How much should I donate to the guide for a free tour?
