Madrid at Christmas, 5 unique plans!

The Christmas season is approaching and, despite this unusual 2020, it is a time of excitement, travel and spending time with loved ones.

This year, we have all earned a vacation, including the little ones, so today we are looking at plans in Madrid to spend a few memorable days. Here we are going to propose five awesome plans for all tastes!

Christmas Bus

Like any big city, Madrid has already installed its Christmas lights leaving the capital even more beautiful.

We propose a tour that visits the most Christmassy points of the capital and is also an attraction in itself.

The bus has a great sound system, lights and everything necessary to perform the animation on board. They also have games and karaoke which both young and old can enjoy in Spain’s capital city.

Ice rink in X-Madrid

Christmas tastes better with ice.

Although there are several options for the city we propose, X Madrid.

It has a natural ice rink of 200m2 located in a covered outdoor square,

It is open from November 27 to January 10, 2021. It has a skate rental service and the use of gloves is mandatory.

On their website, you can see that there are options to go there for free! If you buy something from one of the establishments inside and if not, it's only 6 euros, so it's still a good option.

Buy lottery in Doña Manolita

If you're from Madrid, you've probably heard of Doña Manolita, and if not, you probably have too.

The Christmas lottery is a real phenomenon in Spain.

Founded in 1904, it has survived more than 100 years of history.

Today, Doña Manolita is located in C / del Carmen No 22, a few steps from the Plaza del Callao, where the free tour starts. The administration of Doña Manolita has the most distributed prizes in the country and has millions of customers around the world. If you want to win the Spanish Christmas Lottery, this is the place to buy!

Naturaleza Encendida in the Botanical Garden.

When the sun goes down and the night comes to Madrid, a unique space in the city stands out.

The Royal Botanical Garden comes to life. Full of surprises, lights and magic corners, this is one of our favorite places in the winter season.

Due to the great success of this edition, they have extended visits until January 17th.

Christmas Markets in Madrid

At this time the city is full of Christmas markets. There are so many and and they’re great to visit: The Flea Market, San Miguel Market, Tirso de Molina Flower Market, the Joke Market in Plaza de las Provincias...

Among all of them, the one located in what is probably the most beautiful square in the city, the Plaza Mayor, stands out.

The stalls in this market, more than 100 booths, display all types of objects related to Christmas, figurines, tree decoration and all kinds of crafts. If you interested in making your own nativity scene for Christmas, make sure to visit the Plaza Mayor to get a new figurine/souvenir.

So, with all these plans, what are you waiting for? Come spend an unforgettable X-mas in Madrid?
